Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I attend?
Deen Intensive Foundation (DIF) hosts programs that are meant for every day Muslims to participate in. They are designed to impart the basic essentials of the Deen so that the acquired knowledge may be applied in every day life. Programs are meant to be both spiritually and intellectually enriching with a well-developed and balanced curriculum.
What does it mean to certify?
DIF has developed a certification program in which students are encouraged to complete a required set of core subjects that will provide them a well-rounded understanding of the Deen. Once a student has covered the required subjects and has successfully completed the course exam, he or she will receive a certification of completion. Required subjects will be taught during DIF programs. Programs will be offered at various times during the year, including weekend courses, week-long courses and the annual month long Rihla program.
What is the exam process like?
At the end of each course, students will be tested on the material they have been taught at the program. Tests are a requirement for those students who wish to gain credit for the subject as a part of the certification process. Tests are straight forward and not meant to be tricky or hard. They simply gauge if the student has grasped the key concepts of each class. Tests will primarily be based off the course workbook/study guide so as to encourage students to use these tools during their studies.
What if I cannot attend many of programs, will you have online options?
A distance learning/online educational programming is currently being developed and will be available for students who may have difficulty in attending the yearly DIF programs.
What does the course material include?
Course material included high quality texts/books, study guide/workbook and course outline. Audio/visual material is also included in select subjects.
Will you be keeping track of which courses students have completed?
All students who have participated in a DIF program, will be included in our student database. Courses successfully completed will be recorded for tracking purposes.
What if I cannot afford the program fees?
Scholarships are available for students who are not able to meet the tuition fees. Students who are seeking financial aid for a particular program will be required to submit a form stating their financial needs. Payment plans are also available.
What if I wanted to host a program in my community?
For those individuals who wish to host a Deen Intensive program in their local communities, a special application form will be made available in the coming month. The application, once completed, will be submitted to the DIF board for review and approval. We are excited and wish to host more DIF programs throughout North America and the UK.
Are children allowed at the programs?
Children are permitted at select programs where babysitting or childcare arrangements are handy. Unfortunately some of the overseas programs do not have this option but we are working diligently to allow families with young children to participate in our programs.
Is their an age requirement?
The minimum age requirement is 18. However, exceptions have been made in the past on select students who have demonstrated maturity and dedication.
